Upcoming COVID-19 Vaccine Appointments

Published on

Northwestern Health Unit (NWHU) advises the public that technical issues due to an upgrade to the COVID-19 vaccine Provincial Booking System caused some local clinics not to show up in the system, and some people were able to book appointments on dates when there are no clinics planned.

The booking system is now repaired, however, to make sure that those who are eligible for vaccines can get into clinics this week, most mass community clinics from June 2nd to June 5th will have walk-in spaces available. Dates, times, and eligibility are noted below, and can also be found on the NWHU website.

Note that depending on the vaccine type available, walk-in clinics have specific eligibility criteria, as noted below. Anyone who is currently eligible for an early 2nd dose can also attend a walk-in clinic if the minimum number of days since their first dose has passed. Groups eligible for an early 2nd dose include:

  • Anyone born in 1941 or earlier (80+)
  • First Nations, Metis, and Inuit people and their household members
  • Those who live in a long-term care home or elder care lodge
  • Transplant recipients, dialysis patients, cancer patients on active treatment, and those taking anti-CD20 agent medications
  • High-risk health care workers, as defined by the Ministry of Health
