Infection Prevention and Control Information and Resources
Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) practices are evidence-based actions and procedures that, when applied consistently, can prevent or reduce the risk of transmission of microorganisms to health care providers, clients, patients, residents and visitors.
The Northwestern Health Unit’s IPAC Team promotes best practices in infection prevention and control in Long Term Care Homes and Congregate Living Settings. We help with preparation and response to infectious diseases, provide education, and support capacity building.
If you are interested in our education sessions or IPAC Champion’s program, proactive walkthroughs, need assistance with policy creation, or have questions about how we can support you, please don’t hesitate to contact us at ipachub@nwhu.on.ca.
