- Position Summary:
Reporting to the Manager of Dental Health, the Dental Health Assistant and Educator will work within a public health team to support and deliver dental and surveillance activities. The Dental Health Assistant and Educator delivers relevant health education and health promotion messages in a variety of community settings. This position also supports the public health dental clinics and outreach clinical services.

- Qualifications:
- Graduate from an approved dental assisting program Level 1 and 2 and membership with Ontario Dental Assistants’ Association (ODAA) in good standing; or Graduate from an accredited educational program of Dental Hygiene and registered with College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario (CDHO) in good standing.
- CPR and AED certification or willingness to obtain required.
- Experience working with a variety of age groups and cultures in diverse settings and a minimum of three years related dental experience preferred.
- Knowledge and/or experience with principles of child and adult education, community development and mobilization considered an asset.
- Knowledge of workplace conduct and activities in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act considered an asset.
- Knowledge of all Public Health Dental programs considered an asset.
- Supporting public health community and mobile dental clinics and assisting within hospital environment.
- Clinical side chair assisting.
- Operate, set-up (jacks, pylons, etc.), take-down, schedule the mobile dental office(s) to required locations.
- Participates and provides dental health instruction, teaching lessons, and health fairs
- Demonstrated computer skills: Office 365, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail and the Internet
- Ability to work well independently and as part of multi-disciplinary teams
- Willingness to work irregular hours and travel out of town.
- Other:

- Access to transportation. Mileage allowance provided.
