Letter to the Public November 2021

Dear NWHU area residents,

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact Northwestern Health Unit’s services. Our priority is the pandemic response, which includes case and contact management, COVID-19 vaccinations, and infection prevention and control support.

As nearly all NWHU staff have been redeployed to assist with the pandemic response, our usual services are still being impacted. As public health’s work in protecting our region from the virus continues, COVID-19 is spreading at higher rates in areas close to us. Residents must remain vigilant in practicing prevention measures to keep our local risk minimized.

If you haven’t been vaccinated for COVID-19 yet, I encourage you to consider it. Please reach out to your health care provider to ensure you have accurate information about the vaccine. We are once again offering large community clinics for those eligible for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd doses. More information can be found on our website at www.nwhu.on.ca/covid19.

Thank you for all you’ve done to keep our communities safe and healthy.

Sincerely,

Dr. Kit Young Hoon
Medical Officer of Health
Northwestern Health Unit

Marilyn Herbacz
Chief Executive Officer
