More residents now eligible for 1st, 2nd, and booster doses

Northwestern Health Unit’s COVID-19 clinics continue as more residents become eligible for the vaccine, including booster doses. Anyone who is eligible for a first, second, or booster dose of the vaccine can book an appointment at one of the scheduled clinics throughout the region.

Eligibility includes:

  • First doses: Anyone aged 5 or older (or born in 2016 or earlier)
  • Second doses: The recommended interval between first and second dose is 56 days (8 weeks)
  • Booster doses: If second dose was given at least 168 days (24 weeks) ago, the following groups can receive a booster dose:
    • Anyone aged 70 and over (born in 1951 or earlier)
    • First Nation, Inuit, and Métis adults and their family/household members
    • Health care workers and first responders
    • People who received a complete series of a viral vector vaccine (2 doses of AstraZeneca or 1 dose of Janssen)
    • People living in a retirement home, elder care lodge, or those living in a congregate setting for seniors, including designated essential caregivers
